The Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment (NCS) for 2019 has started with the portal opened for application, Concise News reports.
This online news medium understands that the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), said this at a briefing at the NCS headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to the Customs Service boss, the recruitment exercise was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and is in line with requirements of the Federal Character Commission (FCC).
“We are actively engaged with the Commission to ensure that the process will earn a certificate of compliance on merit,” he noted.
According to him, the Nigeria Customs Service recruitment will be carried out to fill 800 space in the Support Staff for Superintendent Cadre category.
He also noted that the 2,400 space will go for Customs Inspector and Customs Assistant Cadre in the General Duty category.
Available Positions In Customs Recruitment 2019
The application is opened for three positions which are:

1. Superintendent Cadre
The Superintendent Cadre are senior ranking officers comprising of Assistant Superintendent of Customs.
2. Inspectorate Cadre
Assistant Inspectors are Mid-Level officers comprising of Assistant Inspectors of Customs.
3. Assistant Cadre
The Assistant Cadre are junior ranking officers comprising of Customs Assistant.

This is as he noted that the portal  www.vacancy.customs.gov.ng will be opened on Wednesday for the 32,000 persons to be recruited during the exercise.

Eligibility For Nigeria Customs Recruitment 2019

To apply, you must fulfil the following criteria:
1. Applicant must be a Nigerian citizen by birth
2. Applicants must have completed secondary school (O level) or higher education depending on the position been applied
3. Applicant must be within the age brackets of 18-35 years
4. Prisoners are excluded from the Nigerian Customs Service Recruitment 2019
5. Not be less than 1.7 metres in height, for male and 1.64 metres for female.
6. Have a fully expanded chest measurement of not less than 0.87 metres, male.
7. Be certified by a Government Medical Officer to be physically and mentally fit for appointment in Service

8. Not be suffering from any form of physical or mental disability
9. Be free from any form of financial embarrassment
10. Be of good character and must not have been found guilty of any criminal offense
11. Present a certificate of state of origin signed by the Chairman/Secretary of their Local Governments. Certificates endorsed by Liaison officers are unacceptable.

5. Applicants must be mentally fit and health fit

Qualifications For Customs Recruitment 2019

Below are the qualifications you need before application into the Nigeria Customs Service recruitment 2019:
1. All applicants must pose the following SSCE or NCE or ND, or DEGREE
2. Age must within the range of 18 – 35 years for interested applicants.
3. You should Ensure to submit documents that are required by the cadre you are applying for. (Eg. Don’t use Bachelor’s degree for Inspectorate cadre).
4. Do not submit more than one application. You will be disqualified.

The NIGERIAN CUSTOMS SERVICE RECRUITMENT portal will open on the midnight of 17th, April 2019 and application is expected to last just 3 weeks only for all positions.

Nollywood filmmaker Ifeanyi Onyeabo has been confirmed dead while shooting a movie in Jos.
Launchers Inc Group gathered the President of Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Mr Fred Amata, on Friday, confirmed the death of Ifeanyi Onyeabo.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, Amata said that Onyeabo’s death was shocking and unbelievable, and had left him pondering on what may have gone wrong.
He, however, could not say the cause of the incident, saying “we are still trying to ascertain what went wrong while at the venue of the film shooting.
“We do not have the details yet until we reach the hospital to ascertain the cause of his death.
“He will be greatly missed by the entertainment industry.
Pedro Aganbi, former chairman, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos chapter, said that Nollywood had lost an icon who had contributed to the development of the entertainment industry.
“Ifeanyi has been there from the very beginning of Nollywood and he has been a major contributor to the development of the entertainment industry.
“It is a fall of another ‘Iroko’ and we will surely miss him,” Aganbi said.

91,000 Job Seekers Applied For Customs Job Within 24 hours Portal Opened




Less than 24 hours after the Nigeria Customs Service opened its portal for ongoing recruitment exercise, no fewer than 91,000 Nigerians have so far successfully submitted their applications.

One of the officers in charge of the portal at Customs’ headquarters, Abuja, who preferred anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria that, “as at 4:00 P.M, the applications of 91,000 applicants were successfully received.”

NAN reports that NCS opened its portal at 12:00am on Wednesday for recruitment of 3,200 officers and men to the service.

The officer disclosed that applications of other Nigerians in diaspora were also received, adding that Nigerians in not less than 41 countries had so far applied for various cadres.

The Acting Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Human Resources Department, Umar Sanusi, at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja said 800 would be recruited to fill vacancies in the Support Staff for Superintendent Cadre Category.

Sanusi said 2,400 would fill those of Customs Inspector and Customs Assistant Cadre in the General Duty Categories.

He also said that the service’s portal for the recruitment would be opened for 24 hours and would close after three weeks.
