LIvescore: Man City Defeat Tottenham, Go Top Of Premier League













Manchester City defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the English Premier League early kick-off match on Saturday.

Tottenham in the midweek eliminated Man city from the UEFA Champions League on away goal rule.

The Citizens responded positively as they keep their Premier League title hopes alive as Philip Folden’s only goal send them back to the summit of the EPL table.

Philip Folden scored just five minutes to the start of the match as he finds himself in front of Spurs goal heading home Aguero’s assist.

Popular Nollywood Filmmaker Dies

Nollywood filmmaker Ifeanyi Onyeabo has been confirmed dead while shooting a movie in Jos.
Launchers Inc Group gathered the President of Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Mr Fred Amata, on Friday, confirmed the death of Ifeanyi Onyeabo.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, Amata said that Onyeabo’s death was shocking and unbelievable, and had left him pondering on what may have gone wrong.
He, however, could not say the cause of the incident, saying “we are still trying to ascertain what went wrong while at the venue of the film shooting.
“We do not have the details yet until we reach the hospital to ascertain the cause of his death.
“He will be greatly missed by the entertainment industry.
Pedro Aganbi, former chairman, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos chapter, said that Nollywood had lost an icon who had contributed to the development of the entertainment industry.
“Ifeanyi has been there from the very beginning of Nollywood and he has been a major contributor to the development of the entertainment industry.
“It is a fall of another ‘Iroko’ and we will surely miss him,” Aganbi said.

91,000 Job Seekers Applied For Customs Job Within 24 hours Portal Opened




Less than 24 hours after the Nigeria Customs Service opened its portal for ongoing recruitment exercise, no fewer than 91,000 Nigerians have so far successfully submitted their applications.

One of the officers in charge of the portal at Customs’ headquarters, Abuja, who preferred anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria that, “as at 4:00 P.M, the applications of 91,000 applicants were successfully received.”

NAN reports that NCS opened its portal at 12:00am on Wednesday for recruitment of 3,200 officers and men to the service.

The officer disclosed that applications of other Nigerians in diaspora were also received, adding that Nigerians in not less than 41 countries had so far applied for various cadres.

The Acting Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Human Resources Department, Umar Sanusi, at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja said 800 would be recruited to fill vacancies in the Support Staff for Superintendent Cadre Category.

Sanusi said 2,400 would fill those of Customs Inspector and Customs Assistant Cadre in the General Duty Categories.

He also said that the service’s portal for the recruitment would be opened for 24 hours and would close after three weeks.
